In fact, most of the main companies offer similar policies, and you often recycle your phone in the same ways. The big point that we like to consider is how much each different recycling company values your particular phone model. By using our mobile phone recycling comparison tool you quickly realise the massive differences in pay-outs between different operators. If you shop around in this method before actually getting the phone recycled you can make up to an extra £100 just by knowing where to recyle.

As a rule of thumb however, we think that Fone Bank and Envirofone offer great service, and prices on phone recycling.

Flybe have just announced that they are going to offer mobile phone recycling, making them the first airline in the UK to offer such a service. With all the pressures imposed on airlines to reduce their carbon footprint this new scheme could be a good way to create a better public opinion!

The regional carrier announced that it had struck a two-year deal with Redeem plc that invites passengers to recycle their mobile phones using freepost envelopes, which can be picked up during flights from the Flybe Uncovered magazine.

Travellers can also recycle printer cartridges under the scheme to receive reward points, which can be exchanged for flights or access to some of the airline’s lounges across Europe.

Here at Mobile Phone Recycling we are always a little sceptical about large companies getting on the recycling bandwagon as we’re sure many do it for marketing reasons, but this scheme seems very useful. Not only can you recycle phones but they also donate money to Cancer Research UK.

Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer of the airline, said: “Flybe is delighted to be working with Redeem on yet another Flybe first.

“We expect our passengers to respond very positively to the opportunity to recycle their old phones and printer cartridges and help Cancer Research UK at the same time.”

A good idea, but you still make more money by recycling with us here giving you extra cash to donate to a charity of your choice.
